Juventus Appoint Former Italy Head Coach the Experienced Gaffer

Juventus have named former Italian national team boss the veteran manager to take the helm for the rest of the term.

Spalletti steps in for his predecessor, who was sacked after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio on Sunday.

The former boss came on board in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but departed after seven months following a string of eight matches without a victory.

Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 before taking charge of Italy, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.

Nonetheless, Italy dismissed Spalletti in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, putting Italy in danger of missing a third straight World Cup.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and lifted the Russian league trophy twice while at Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla served as interim manager for Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese placing them seventh in the Serie A standings - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.

They are 25th in the league phase of the Champions League, after recording one defeat and two ties in the initial three fixtures.
